About us

Nkqubela Community Radio Station is a non-profit organization that is based in a Township complex in KwaDwesi at Ziyabuya Shopping Centre. The station was granted its broadcasting licenses in 2003 and started to be on Air on 8th May 2004 to date. The broadcasting languages are predominantly 60% Xhosa, 30% English, and 10% Afrikaans. The station targets all age groups as its listenership. The station’s mandate is to entertain, inform and educate about and towards the development of the largely marginalized communities. Although our broadcast footprint is 250 kilowatts, we can reach areas as far as Kirkwood, Jeffery’s Bay, and the outskirts of Nelson Mandela Bay.
